SAYING' HI!

Tangled Afro to Sleek Natural Hair With Absolutely No Combing!

Having tangled and dry hair is my worst hair nightmare, especially when I have plans to go out. Not only is hair in this condition highly susceptible to breakage, it is also a pain in the butt to manipulate. This morning, I was faced with such a situation (as usual), but I tackled it head-on.

I don't know if it was by accident or sheer genius that I discovered this simple way to deal with my problem hair. I was not in the mood for a headwrap, which is my go-to style for hiding uncombed hair, so I thought that I would do an afro puff.

It was going to be a challenge! This past week, my hair had been in mini twists at the front and an afro puff secured with a headband at the back. I slept on it without detangling it. In fact, I just put on my satin bonnet, and slept. That meant that my hair was not only tangled from my old hairstyle, it was also matted down. Ughh, the battle!

Anyway, I went for my arsenal - my Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Frizz-Free Curl Mousse (as a moisturizer) and my Eco Styler Olive Oil Gel as my holding agent. I applied the mousse liberally, lifting up my hair vigorously as I spread the mousse around to coat each strand. Halfway through the process, I realized that I wanted to just put my hair into a low bun with my Sensationnel Synthetic Kanekalon Braids African Collection - Super Reggae remnants.

With the help of hairclips and hairpins, I transformed my dreary look to a stylish, public-worthy do, and I did not use a comb during the entire process.

Here's how I did it:
