SAYING' HI!

Washing Natural Hair In Twists

When I am in extreme protective style mode, and I don't want to risk damaging my fragile ends by the washing process, I will wash them in twists. If done right, washing your hair in twists will not reduce the effectiveness of your shampoo and conditioner.

Always rinse your hair thoroughly with plain water FIRST before applying a cleanser to your hair. This ensures that the product will adhere to your hair strand better.

During your wash, it is important to lather your hair well to ensure that each strand is coated with shampoo. There are a variety of cleansing products available on the market, including sulphate-free shampoos. I recently reviewed the Suave Naturals Morning Bliss 2-in-1 Shampoo and Conditioner (which contains sodium laureth sulphate) - and I loved it!! It was just the right shampoo and conditioner that I needed at the time.

Take your time to carefully rinse out any product from your hair, and then apply your favourite leave-in conditioner. Presently, I am using the Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Extra-Moisture Detangler w/ Sea Kelp & Argan Oil.
