SAYING' HI!

Suave Saved My Wash Day!

Disclaimer: This is my unpaid review of the Suave Naturals Morning Bliss 2-in-1 Shampoo and Conditioner.

Last wash day, I wanted squeaky clean hair because I wanted to get rid of all the product buildup from over a week of applying an olive oil hair creme to my hair. I do have a sulphate-free shampoo, but was not inclined to use it since, as I said, I wanted a thorough strip down of my hair strand. I know it doesn't sound too healthy in the natural hair world, but I need it sometimes.

I already have a Suave shampoo, but either I had forgotten if it worked well or not, or I wasn't too keen on using it again. Either way, I shopped around for another cost-effective brand. I stumbled upon Suave Naturals Morning Bliss 2-in-1 Shampoo | Conditioner, and somewhat sceptically, decided to give it a try. The smell was captivating, and the price was right!

I was sceptical because I did not have the best experiences with Suave in the past, except for one miracle product - the Moroccan Infusion Color Care Conditioner. That conditioner made me do a doube take when it came to Suave, but I still didn't get great results from the regular shampoos and conditioners that I used. I felt that they left my hair dry.

Suave Naturals does contain sodium laureth sulphate (sulfate) which is a stripping agent.

Fastforward to my wash day last week. My hair was full of gunk from the week due to my new habit of regularly moisturizing my hair to minimize hair loss caused by the comb getting stuck on tangles and knots.

I thoroughly rinsed my hair with water for a few minutes. Then, I applied the first bit of shampoo. It lathered up quite well, but I also applied a second bit to make the cleaning complete. While I was cleaning my scalp and hair, I could feel how soft my hair had become. I made sure to leave it in for about 2 minutes, massaging my scalp and running my fingers through my hair the entire time. This is a shampoo and conditioner, so I wasn't afraid that it would dry out my hair.

The big surprise!

When I rinsed out my hair - oh my goodness - that hair felt lighter than cotton. I am talking about the top part of my hair especially that is a 4b texture. My hair was clean, and so LIGHT!! I was in disbelief. I couldn't believe that this was Suave, the brand that I did not care for.

Perhaps, as this is the Suave Naturals line, my hair responded to it better. I am not saying that I will not use different brands of shampoos in the future, but at least I know that when I want squeak clean, soft hair, this one is in the bag.

Because I only used it once, I give it a conservative 4 out of 5 stars. Update: 4.5 out of 5 stars (for remaining consistent after my third wash!!)

UPDATE:

I've used this Suave Naturals Shampoo | Conditioner 3 times already, including today, and I givei 4.5 ouI LOVE the way my hair feels. With this and my Raw Shea Butter Extra-Moisture Detangler, my hair breakage on wash day is virtually NON-EXISTENT.
