My Night-Time Hair Care Routine

Sometimes, you want to pamper your hair, so instead of just sleeping with it 'out' covered with your satin bonnet, or just gathered up in a scrunchy, you may want to plait it. This is one of my nightly hair care routines. I am equally comfortable just doing nothing to my hair if I am tired, but this style gives much better results in the morning. Plaiting or twisting your hair to sleep at nights has a lot of benefits. It is a protective style securing as many of your hair ends as possible from direct contact with your pillowcase or hair bonnet, satin or otherwise.
The wrapped nature of the plait helps to preserve moisture in the hair, and if you added any styling product to your hair, the definition of the braid or twist will give your hair a lovely curl upon drying completely. For this style, I typically make the front sections smaller than the back, no particular reason. I don't do a centre part in front; instead, I take some hair from one side and bring it over to the other side. The hair is combed out thoroughly to avoid tangled hair upon take down. STEPS: 1. Divide your hair into two big sections from ear to ear, separating the front from the back. Cut the front section into two parts, and plait or flat twist the hair 2. Divide the back into two equal sections, and plait or flat twist each section (it doesn't have to be too neat) 3. To avoid having the ends out, use hair clips to pin the ends in place 4. Cover your head with a satin bonnet or silk scarf, and go to sleep!

As you can see, my plaits aren't near perfect, but that suits me just fine. I'm just going to sleep. I will wear this hairstyle under my wig or scarf for a few days ahead.
